Product details
One Thing at a Time is a reflection on the small things - life's pieces, threads and building blocks. Written between 2020 and 2023, the suite embodies the shifts in perspective and priority that follow major life changes: the need to transmute life's complexity back to the simple and the sensory. Back to one thing at a time. The piece represents a shift in compositional focus towards clarity, and a more organic language.
Each movement has a textural, thematic and emotional focus named for a tactile object or action: Step, Brick, Breath, Grain and Threads. These are the foundations of being, movement, life, and the ties that connect us. They are where we begin.
