Product details

Musical clouds configure and reconfirgure themselves. The sextet, divided into two trios, plays through specific musical material, but is allowed certain freedoms in rhythm and coordination. I imagine the rich monochrome space above a broad skyline, never the same, but always the same.

(Philadelphia) sky sketch was written for 'The Brass Project', a newly formed sextet from the Curtis Institute of Music, who invited thirty composers to contribute pieces to their inaugural performance and recording projects.

Published by: Australian Music Centre — 1 set of 6 performance parts (30p. -- A4 (portrait))

Difficulty: Medium — There are some ensemble challenges in this piece, arising from the rhythmic freedom of the scoring.

Duration: 3 min.

Commission info: Written for 'The Brass Project' with thanks to Nick DiBerardino

First performance 8 May 16. Philadelphia Art Alliance, The Brass Project, USA
