Product details

Written throughout 2010, this work deals with issues of aggression, tenderness, cowardice, barbarity, transcendence and survival.

The soloist assumes the role of a reflective individual, the orchestra the role of a more or less unreflective group determining various scenarios which the soloist must come to terms with in order to survive.

The antagonism between the individual (soloist) and group (orchestra) is experienced on two levels: conflict and synthesis.

At the level of conflict the confrontation is often violent, cowardly, stupid and brutally repressive, physically, emotionally and mentally; mostly the soloist is unaware of what is happening before being overwhelmed.

The level of synthesis deals with a more enlightened dialogue between the individual and wider environments: human, organic and spiritual.

During the course of the work the focus shifts continuously between these levels, with a tendency towards a synthesis between soloist and orchestra.

The work is dedicated to victims of homo- and transphobia, both those undergoing arbitrary incarceration and forced psychiatric "treatment" as well as those contending with ignorance and hatred in everyday life.
