Product details

This sung liturgy (mass) is part of the Lutheran tradition stretching back to Martin Luther's break from the Catholic Church 500 years ago. He was also very interested in music and wrote over 30 hymns. As a tribute to the strong musical voice in the Lutheran tradition, I have written a singable set of short pieces for congregation, minister, organ (or band with chords given) and flute obligato in three of the pieces. The St Stephens church I attend has learned them one by one over several months for the premiere on Reformation Sunday. Several people have told me that they have 'earworms' on many of the melodies which I regard as the ultimate compliment as a composer. I hope other churches may find this new piece of liturgical music and enjoy making it their own. It has proved singable and enjoyable for its premiering congregation, adding depth to the worship experience through music.
