Sheet Music: Performance PartsRush : for saxophone quartet / Michael Bakrnčev.by Michael Bakrnčev (2012)

Product details
Rush is an energetic and optimistic sonic metaphor capturing the composer's upbringing on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. Countless days and nights were spent at the beach, catching 'party waves' with friends, having bonfires on the beach and getting up to all sorts of mischief as a teenager. The opening flourish of notes and driving rhythmically accented notes immediately set up the audience for a highly energetic musical journey. The composer juxtaposes this against a sweet and tender moment in the middle of the piece, indulging in beautifully crafted melodies poinginantly shared by the soprano and tenor, upon making a return to the fast and rhythmic patterns found at the beginning, making the work a perfect candidate for captivating instrumental listening and programming.
