Sheet Music: ScoreSticks and stones : after Andy Goldsworthy / Becky Llewellyn.by Becky Llewellyn (1993)

Product details
Andy Goldsworthy is a UK sculptor who visited aridland South Australia and showed us its beauty at the 1992 Adelaide Festival through wonderful sculptures of sticks and stones.
Song Ball is based on a huge ball of mallee sticks and weaves melodies in and out like the wood.
Song Line is a dramatic alternative experience watching a performer make music out of wood and rocks alone, as in the rock line Goldsworthy created.
Finally, Song Web inhabits an ethereal place I experienced when seeing Goldsworthy's web of grape vine prunings woven with no glue or nylon into a curtain in the middle of a room. A large central hole, which appeared to have nothing in it, took me to a vortex experience where it appeared full of cosmic light. Ryszard Pusz helped me find the right mushroom head sticks on marimba to duplicate this experience musically, as the chords ring with eerie overtones and undertones, all from sticks on sticks.
It is truly wonderful to be inspired by such great simplicity in a visual artist and with wonderful assistance from a great percussionist.
