A very playable work that involves rhythmic counterpoint and changing time signatures. Energetic and engaging with a contrapuntal focus. It consists of three movements, each based on a ground bass with varying contrapuntal lines above the bass, with varied rhythmic character and jazz-tinged harmonic progressions.
