This song cycle of six works is set to poems by Frances Browne, written around the time of the Irish famine in the mid 1800's. The songs were composed at The Tyrone Guthrie Centre, Ireland, during a two week composing residency, with pen and paper. Nature is a theme throughout the pieces.
