Product details
The Path is a contemplation and imagined journey travelling amongst the southern sky, looking at our distant yet familiar southern stars as many have done for generations. Originally inspired by a song-line in Aboriginal Wardaman astronomy about the trading of special songs of knowledge throughout the constellations, as described in Dark Sparklers (H. C. Cairns, 2004) by Bill Yidumduma Harney and Hugh Cairns.
Hugh Cairns has kindly given permission to reference this knowledge.
The Path was composed during the 2020 Melbournian stage 4 covid-19 lockdown, and finished during another Victorian lockdown in 2021. Never have the stars seemed so distant and our yearning for exploration and connection seemed more important.
