Product details
The piece is written to represent the painful journey of a refugee in Australia, commencing with life at the Detention Centre/Prison on Manus Island. The first movement representing the Prison, is quite dissonant. The second movement represents release from the Detention centre after 8 years and the struggles in getting settled The first part of the Third Movement represents the joy of finally being settled, and the end section is a reflection on life as the refugee nears the end of his life on earth.
The First Movement is reminiscent of the style of Messiaen. The third movement is written to have instant appeal to the public.
