Sheet Music: Score
The Trudge / Ellen Kirkwood.
by Ellen Kirkwood (2018)
This expansion of a New-Orleansy tune originally wrote for Jazz quintet is a lot of fun, and an opportunity for any band member to take a bluesy solo. Drums are prominent throughout, and encouraged to put their own spin on the groove. The Trudge requires a characterful and raucous approach - restraint and neatness won't work here!
Published by: Australian Music Centre — 1 facsimile score (10p. -- A3 (landscape))
Difficulty: Medium — Trumpet range to high Bb (concert pitch), angular quaver-based melodies, requires rhythm section jazz vocabulary e.g. ad lib walking bass, drum stylisation, improvised solos suitable for novice level.
