Product details
Times Past is a reflection of fond memories, but is also a nostalgic feeling for a time outside of personal experience. Its simple melody moves with the grace of a Renaissance dance, and is conceived with the rich and plaintive tones of the viola da gamba in mind.
The tonality of Times Past is a contemporary look at the period in music history just before the system of major and minor keys was fully developed. This was also a time when improvisation was an integral part of playing music, and all members of the group are invited to create their part at one point in the piece.
