This resource is to assist educators in accessing, understanding and teaching Australian vocal chamber music to students in the classroom environment. The resource is primarily for secondary school students and can be incorporated in classroom programs from Years 9-12. The content of this resource includes an introduction to the War Letters commissioning and recording project which was initiated by Diana Blom through an ANZAC Centenary Local Grants Program, in association with Jenny Duck-Chong of Halcyon as well as information on Australian music making inspired by World War I. This is followed by an investigation of the music of selected composers from this project who included Dr Elliott Gyger, Dr Nicole Murphy and Dr Diana Blom with detailed listening guides of their music. Towards the end of the kit are teaching prompts/ideas to assist with the presentation and study of these works in the classroom. These prompts or tasks have been divided into Listening/Musicology, Performance and Composition. This resource includes scores by Elliott Gyger and Nicole Murphy. Triptych by Diana Blom is sold separately.
