Product details
When Seasons Collide is a work for Clarinet, Cello and Piano. It is an expressive piece consisting of flowing melodic lines shifting through contrasting modal harmonies. There are abrupt rythmic and expressive contrasts that evoke the title. In the first section, lyrical lines erupt into unstable staccato runs. The second section commences with an unsettling metric modulating surprise. The true metre is revealed by a simple pizzicato pulse in the cello. Melodic fragments from the first section are developed transitioning back to the original metre. It is a dynamic concert piece full of energy and drama.
