Work Overview
Each movement has been composed from the inspiration of visits to
four museums/collections respectively: The Melbourne Museum
(Children's museum), The Cunningham Dax Collection, Science Works
(The Planetarium) and The Holocaust Museum.
I wanted to capture the 'human' element of each collection.
Buildings holding a collection of paintings, artefacts, facts,
museums may be viewed from a variety of angles. I like to think
of these places as a depiction/ portrayal of our humanity. I have
chosen the title to represent an emotional and human aspect of
each institution.

My favourite Australian art song repertoire
Posted by Australian Music Centre on 22 July, 2013
The AMC asked leading practitioners to select their favourite Australian art song repertoire, to provide delegates to the 2013 International Conference of Vocal Teachers (Brisbane 2013) with an introduction to this rich and diverse landscape.
A wonderfully quirky, poignant piece, each movement has a mood of its own, inspired by visits to four museums/collections. There's plenty to enjoy vocally, from the angular, hectic Dinosaur to the simple, folky Hinta Palinta. The unbearably beautiful top C bringing Night Thoughts to a close is one of the best in the repertoire if approached with care.
