This is a song from the Seven Stations song cycle about Kings Cross. That part of Sydney has been associated with sex, money, drugs, violence and diversity for a long time, and this poem setting is in some ways nostalgic for the innocent side of KX.
Instrumentation: Mezzo Soprano, spoken voice, kalimba, cello, percussion.
Duration: 6 min.
Commission note: Commissioned by Charles Davidson.
