Work Overview
This is a gradually building work which weaves together several layers of melody and counterpoint. It is an excerpt from "Queensland at home", a score prepared for a collection of silent home movies shot in Queensland in the 1920s-40s. The scene from which the music is taken concerns fairgrounds, woodchoppers, parades, synchronised gymnastics, swimming, beach games and various energetic outdoor activities.
