Instrumentation: Duration is variable for this piece. Instrumentation - three performers -1. egg performer - using hard-boiled eggs and amplified stompbox or acoustic amplifying device (an empty biscuit tin with the lid on was used in the 2019 performance) ; 2. performer with vibraslap or amplified kalimba/mbira ; 3. performer with double bass/electric bass/tea chest bass.
Duration: 2 min.
Difficulty: Medium — Not technically difficult, but improvisation skills/a bit of dramatic flair needed for this event score/'fluxus' work
Commission note: Written for a call for scores by newCELF (Daniel-Wyn Jones and Richard McReynolds) in 2019.
The composer notes:
I wrote this piece with inspiration from the text score works of Pauline Oliveros, and also with an interest in the work of Cornelius Cardew and John Cage.
