Work Overview

This composition is grounded by a gentle ostinato heard in the bass, with a trumpet melody that weaves in and out of sync against the ensemble. The etheral, floating quality of the music is reminiscent of Miles Davis's In A Silent Way.

Instrumentation: Jazz quintet: Bb trumpet, tenor saxophone, keyboard (preferably Fender Rhodes), double bass, drums.Alternatively, this can be performed by quartet (without tenor sax).
