Work Overview
John Honey's six beautifully evocative, as well as highly informative, poems offered me lots of imageries and contrasts, from the Black Cockatoo ('in black mourning dress') to the witty Grey Thrush (whose 'nice reputation should forth with be set aside') and the Raven, ('late, hurrying somewhere...'), Blue Wren ('harangues his harem from the sundial') and the Swamp Harrier ('...shows off his moves to potential young loves'), prepare us for the Wedge Tailed Eagle ('flying long and high') bringing the work to a quiet and thought-provoking close.
