Mathinna's Lullaby : for oboe and piano / Don Kay.

Library shelf no. 788.52/KAY 3 [Available for loan]

Work Overview

I wrote this for Emma, my grand daughter, for her 12th birthday, 30/6/2009. It is an adaption of the main melody in my 'Mathinna in the red dress' for string orchestra. The same 8 bar tune was first composed for my String Quartet no. 5 - a tragic life.

The oboe part could well be played by any instrument suitable to that range, such as a flute, violin, clarinet or even a muted trumpet.
