Work Overview
In writing this quartet, I wanted to explore the
impact of climate change and human activity on the ecology of
string instruments. Many of the materials required for our
strings, such as spruce, ebony, and Pernambuco wood are now
endangered, leading me to contemplate the following question:
what will happen when no more string instruments can be made?
