Work Overview
This easy two-part choral work was composed specifically for use with Junior School choirs with unchanged voice. It features a singable, memorable melody with a simple second part, both within a comfortable and limited vocal range. The work is in natural minor and features the performance technique of whispering for dramatic effect at the beginning and conclusion. The lyrics are taken from Robert Louis Stevenson's poem of the same name. When performed at the indicated tempo, the work conveys the feeling of being on a fast-travelling train and gazing out the window while the outside world whips by.
