Work Overview
Paterson's Scherzo was written as an encore to leave the audience feeling like jumping in animated suspension with one fist in the air, regardless of its accompanying program. The energetic musical material serves to playfully showcase the quartet's virtuosity as both instrumentalists and chamber musicians - a notion evoking the original meaning of its title.
