Work Overview

In this piece there are three types of music which may be likened to three characters (A, B, C) in a play. Character A's music is developed more and more each time it enters, whereas B and C's musics come into conflict with each other. The statements of B and C become stronger and one of them borrows elements from A's music. The borrower, being somewhat passive, resolves the conflict by returning to his former self, whereas the more aggressive partner's music becomes an amalgam of all three characters, apparently reconciled.
