This work was inspired by the early days of recording technology, particularly the work of Thomas Edison and his meglomaniacal attept to monopoloise the market with Country-wide promotional tours and smear campaigns against competitors. The repetitive 'perpetuum mobile' style accompaniment reflects the spinning of the wax cylinder or revolving record; ever spinning, until it finally becomes stuck in the final moments of the piece.
