Work Overview
This work was composed to accompany a short silent film from the 1920s. The film was made by the avant garde German director Paul Leni, and was one of his 8 puzzle films. These films were designed to be shown in two parts, before and after the main feature - the clues being given in the first part and the solutions in the second. The Puzzle Rag was played in 2 parts live while the the film was projected.
