Work Overview
The Innocents was composed by David Banney in 2023, and the original version is for solo violin and electronic backing, with solo violin recorded by Susan Collins. The work is dedicated to all survivors and victims of sexual abuse within a religious context and commissioned as a collaboration between Elizabeth Seysener (Clergy Abused Network), and Zimmerman Service Healing and Support (Catholic Diocese of Maitland Newcastle through the Bishops Healing Fund).
