Flash in the Pan is a through-composed work for jazz orchestra. It has a hip hop groove and explores melodies which develop as they bounce between differernt instrumental colours.
Instrumentation: 5 trumpets, alto sax/flute, alto sax/clarinet, tenor sax/flute, tenor sax, baritone sax/clarinet, 3 trombones, 1 bass trombone, guitar, bass, drums.Trombone 2 feature improvised solo.
Duration: 6 min.
