Kensington Cycle : (collage) for ensemble and electronics

by Connor D'Netto (2018)

Work Overview

I describe kensington cycle as a collage in that it consists of three fairly separate elements layered together, contrasting and juxtaposing them to create a new musical whole. Here, the three elements are: an atmosphere - bright, energetic, floral, spinning around itself then torn apart by electronics effects creating a blurred haze; a cycle - pulsing echoes, two lines constantly intertwining and toying with each other in a back-and-forth dialogue; and a chorale - lush, familiar, like a warm blanket.
