An answering phone message recording from composer Steve Reich to Robert Davidson, the composer of this work, is looped and gradually slowed down in the manner of Steve Reich's conceptual work "Slow motion sound". A more localised loop is introduced, progressing through the recording with an expanding envelope so that time is gradually slowed down.
