Work Overview
Splinter is an electroacoustic work exploring transformations of metallic like timbres. Through using digital synthesis and processing techniques such as phase vocoding and granular synthesis, different spectral components of 'found' recorded sounds are highlighted and manipulated creating a series of transforming crystalline sound envelopes. Splinter was first performed at the 1999 International Computer Music Conference Beijing, China.
