STUDY #1 is the first in a series of solo works for bass guitar that are aimed to generate music from various technical restraints including: playing a melody and bassline simultaneously, soloing through chord changes, and maintaining a consistent pulse and feel as the melodic figures become more difficult. The work was written for high school students at the VCE/HSC level.
