Work Overview
Gothic, weird, funny, dark, heartbreaking... "The Sharpest Piece" is a cabaret-style song cycle about a woman who believes she is made of glass.
Set in C19th Vienna, her domineering husband sends her off to a well-known expert to fix her.
Five distinctly different songs, drawing from inspirations as diverse as Thom Yorke, Arnold Schoenberg, Ella Fitzgerald, and Kurt Weill, this work is a story of no matter how dark and confusing our mind can be sometimes, our power is still inside us.
