Hop to the Vince-kins : small jazz ensemble
by Andrew Harrison (2010)
Score SampleView a sample of the score of this work
This piece was originally written as a duet for guitarist Vince Hopkins and myself. This arrangement, for a larger jazz quintet, should be played with a loose 'back-beat' groove, emphasising the shifting time signatures. Think of '60s Horace Silver or Herbie Hancock's 'Watermelon Man'.
Instrumentation: Jazz quintet: Bb trumpet, tenor saxophone, piano (keyboards), bass, drums
Duration: 7 min.
Dedication note: Dedicated to Vince Hopkins
