Aster I, by Sadie Harrison

Source: Recorded live at Halcyon concert ‘Of Earth and Stars’ on 16 April 2016

This unaccompanied song is the first movement of a larger six-movement cycle entitled Aster for voice, flute, violin, viola and cello. Aster draws its texts from the Greek Anthology, a collection of over four thousand poems collected by Byzantine scholars approximately one thousand years ago. The set of poems date from 7th century BC through until 6th Century AD.
