Work Overview
The title of the piece Koren in English translates to 'Root.' This piece employs multiple time signatures that are characteristic to traditional Macedonian folk music such as 5/8, 7/8, 9/8. Also, mixed groupings are employed in the shifting time signatures to create unpredictability, and a transitional smoothness that works with subtle character.
