Work Overview
Written at the request of pianist Vanessa Sharman for her Australian Lullabies for Solo Piano project (to be recorded for Tall Poppies, Sydney, 2023), this work is an arrangement of my "Distant Lullaby" for Soprano and Piano (1998), which is the sixth song in my first song cycle, Art & Life (1999). The concept stems from the idea of being separated in some way from one's baby or child, but still wanting to "sing" a lullaby to them.

Distant Lullaby for SA Choir and Piano was written while I was the Artist in Residence at the Lyceum Club in 2024. It is an arrangement of the song for solo high female voice and piano, VI in my song cycle, Art & Life (1999).
