Six little pieces for piano / Linda Kouvaras.
Library shelf no. 786.2/KOU 3 [Available for loan]
Work Overview
These pieces are presented in order of difficulty for pianists of
about one year's experience upwards; the final three are the
equivalent of AMEB V/VI Grade standard (intermediate to
upper-level intermediate). A version of 12-Bar for Two
also exists for high voice and piano, entitled, Appropriate
Me. With the exception of With Jenny Evelyn…
(1999), all pieces were written in October-November 2006.
With Jenny Evelyn, 3rd-Last Day, Bundanon was written
while my partner, visual artist and musician Richard Ward, and I
were on our first artist-in-residence position with at Bundanon,
the Arthur and Yvonne Boyd estate in NSW bequeathed to the
nation. The title was inspired by visual artist Jenny Evelyn,
also artist-in-residence at the time, with whom Richard and I
developed a close bond.
