Secrets of Water : for alto saxophone and piano / Catherine Likhuta.
Library shelf no. 788.73/LIK 1 [Available for loan]
Work Overview
It seems to be a common dream of a great number of people to live near the beautiful seaside. It is an idolized picture: to have a house by the beach, with waves calmingly rocking by, where you can come out for a spontaneous dive just before calling it a day. We are often so captivated by the incredible grace and charm of water that we tend to forget about one thing: water likes to live a double-life… From sharks and killer whales to sunken ships and crashed planes, to the record number of our planet's most poisonous creatures, to the destructive energy of tsunamis waiting to happen, to the drowned ones for whom water became a grave… there are so many secrets water keeps. And it knows how to keep them so exceptionally well that nobody will ever find out.
This piece is an emotional play on the multiple-personality nature of water - Catherine Likhuta
