Work Overview

ESPIRAL is a musical game based on the weaving and hocketing of breath and on the manifold sound possibilities of brass instruments. Inspired and as an instrumentalist joyfully challenged by thetransformative processes and changes of parameter that Karlheinz Stockhausen employs in his work Spiral, I have introduced windows of improvisational freedoms to each player in Espiral. The collaboration between players as well as the window of focus on each player all make an acoustic portrait of the members of Stockholm Chamber Brass changing in detail and perspective for each performance.
