Work Overview
At the Milonga invites listeners to come to the 'Milonga'. A milonga is a place or event where the tango is danced. Milongas can be found around the world and most are held on a regular basis (often weekly). They usually begin with dancing classes and sometimes demonstration dances. During the evening, three to five songs of the one kind are played in a row followed by a short musical break that provides an opportunity to clear the dance floor and to change partners.
With its provocative melody and captivating
dance rhythms, At the Milonga
demonstrates a strong South-American influence.
This is an irresistable, light-hearted piece written for
unaccompanied SATB choir.
