Work Overview

Rickety Bridge has three contrasting sections. The title reflects the fact that, in the Full version, these sections are arranged in Arch form - A B C B A.
Section C is the most lyrical and so delivers the greatest contrast.

The Abridged version consists of Sections A and B only arranged in Ternary form - A B A. It can also be used by more advanced pianists for sight-reading practice.

Apart from three contrasting themes, Rickety Bridge, also uses staccato and legato articulations to enhance the contrast. Part of 'The Emerging Pianist' a series of 24 individual pieces. There is an Abridged version (one page) for younger students and a Full version (double page) for students ready for a bigger challenge.
