Work Overview
4 movement symphonic work for big band and symphony orchestra. Not a "concerto grosso" but both orchestras integrated into one large unit. Includes improvised solo passages for jazz orchestra players.

Instrumentation: Jazz Orchestra: 2 alto sax, 2 tenor sax, baritone sax, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, piano, guitar, bass, drums. Symphony Orchestra: 3 flutes (1 doubling piccolo), 2 oboes, cor anglais, 2 clarinets in B flat, bass clarinet in B flat, 2 bassoons, contra-bassoon, 4 horns in F, 3 trumpets in C, 3 trombones, tuba, timpani, percussion (3 players), strings.
