Work Overview
Technically, these five short pieces constitute an exploration of various aspects of a pitch matrix, carried out in a non-serial manner. This explains the titles in which the pitches are selected as 1) a random linear pathway through the matrix, 2) the building up of the series note by note, 3) searching back and forth through the matrix, 4) arranging the matrix in a modal configuration, and 5) imposing random diamond patterns on the matrix to generate the pitch patterns.
