Apart from the middle verse, this is a loud fanfare with antiphonal trumpets in two or four locations. A large ensemble is required!
Year: 1998, this version: 2004
Instrumentation: 2 piccolos, 2 flutes, 2 oboes, cor anglais, 2 clarinets in B flat, bass clarinet in B flat, 2 bassoons, contrabassoon, 6 horns in F, 4 trumpets in C, 2 trombones, 2 bass trombones, tuba, harps, piano, organ, timpani, percussion (5 players), 8 antiphonal trumpets in C, strings.
