Work

Suite for 'The Little Prince' : for harp (or piano)

by Benjamin Thorn (2016)

Work Overview

Suite for The Little Prince is a slight adaptation of incidental music written for a theatrical performance of The Little Prince (Antoine de St Exupery) by High Country Theatre in Armidale NSW. The first and last movements were originally songs that were used to bookend the performance while other movements were dances or incidental theme music. The style is deliberately simple and folky to reflect the naive quality of the play, and also to suit a cast with some very young performers - the desert flowers for instance were all aged about 6 and the roses young teenagers.
