Work Overview

The lyrics are an adaptation of a poem by expatriot Lebanese poet Charbel Baini. It is a love-song to Australia, a country which provided for Charbel, a new beginning. Written for two-part children's choir with the second part occasionally dividing to a third, it is accompanied by piano and optional percussion. It is a sincerely patriotic song with clear resonances with the issue of asylum seekers.
