Setting of two stanzas of poetry found in Patrick White's classic Australian novel, 'The Tree of Man' for tenor voice and piano which I then supplemented with words of my own. I have since found out that the poet was not in fact White but A.E. Housman and the stanzas are originally from his poem, 'A Shopshire Lad 31: On Wenlock Edge the wood's in touble'. It is Patrick White's novel however which provides the inspiration and context.
Instrumentation: Tenor voice, piano.
Duration: 3 min.
Dedication note: Dedicated to Patrick White. Dedicated to Patrick White
