Three Australian showcases have been confirmed for this year's Classical:NEXT industry event in Rotterdam (15-18 May). Ensemble Offspring, GayBird Leung & Zephyr Quartet, and pianist Sonya Lifschitz, with the collaborative project Stalin's Piano on which she worked with composer Robert Davidson, will appear in prestigious company with the likes of the Netherlands-based ASKO Schonberg Ensemble among the showcasing artists and groups - see the list of confirmed showcases on the website.

Four Australians have also made it to the longlist of the Classical:NEXT Innovation Awards: percussionist/Offspring artistic director Claire Edwardes; the team of two singers behind the Resonant Bodies Australia festival, Jane Sheldon and Jessica Aszodi; and the Berlin-based Shirley Apthorpe for her Umculo festival in South Africa. Voting will open in March, and the winner(s) will be revealed during the Classical:NEXT event.

Please be in touch with Glenn Dickie at SOUNDS AUSTRALIA or John Davis at the AMC to obtain the code to register at a reduced rate under the umbrella of the Australian stand at Classical:NEXT.

This year's Australian Classical:NEXT fellows will be announced in coming weeks.
